Soft Flow room opens at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Pécs

18 October 2024

In the spirit of innovation and collaboration, one of the teaching spaces at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Pécs, has been given a new look to further support the development of the biotechnology programme. The newly refurbished Room 202, adopted by Soft Flow, now serves not only as a classroom but as an inspiring communal space where students can study and work together in a modern and supportive environment.

For the past three years, researchers from Soft Flow Ltd. and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology have been working together on joint studies investigating the composition of cow’s milk and its potential effects on the human immune system and certain diseases. This successful collaboration is set to be showcased through upcoming joint scientific publications. However, Soft Flow’s commitment extends beyond research—its active involvement in education is clearly demonstrated by the adoption of this teaching space, which symbolises the company’s long-term dedication to the faculty.

"We are delighted that the BSc Biotechnology programme has started at the Faculty of Pharmacy, as it equips students with skills they can later apply at Soft Flow”

- said Dr. Simon Armbruszt, Managing Director of the company, in an interview with UnivTV at the room’s opening ceremony.

The aim of the adoption initiative is to create an inspiring learning space that simulates a job market environment, which not only motivates students but also supports them in their career orientation. In the case of Soft Flow, the company’s biotechnology focus perfectly complements the faculty’s English-language biotechnology undergraduate programme.

The design of the Soft Flow room clearly indicates a new direction for how an innovative biotechnology company and a university can collaborate in the long term. Dr. András Fittler, Dean of the University of Pécs Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasised at the room's opening ceremony on 26th of September that the room not only provides inspiration for student’s professional development and career orientation but also serves as a space for collaborative thinking and knowledge sharing.

The lecture hall will not only host lectures and classes but will also be the site of workshops, forums, and conferences, thereby becoming a genuine community space where dialogue between industry and university can continue in new forms.
