Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Pécs achieved outstanding results at this year’s FISU World University Championships Cheerleading 2026, held in Gothenburg in June. As members of the Hungarian national team and competitors representing the PTE PEAC Cheerleading Section, the PTE GYTK students achieved excellent results in several categories.
As a member of the Hip-Hop Team, Szofi Erika Csöndes won a silver medal, while Nóra Krisztina Szőke finished 4th in the Coed Cheer Team category. Nóra Krisztina Szőke also participated in the World Championships as a reserve member of the Hip-Hop Team.

In July, the athletes also competed in the ICU European Cheerleading Championships 2026 in Prague. As members of the PTE PEAC Coed Team, they achieved 5th place, while the Hip-Hop Team finished 8th.

The teams were coached by Tímea Biró (Hip-Hop), and Richárd Alex Gajdácsi and Attila Nagy (Coed Cheer). The professional staff included Tamás Horváth, Petra Pestality, Dr Kata Szalai, and Nikolett Tumpek, who are coaches of the PTE PEAC Cheerleading Section. Dr Beatrix Perjés, head of the section, served as team leader.
At both the World and European Championships, the Pécs athletes had the opportunity to compete against numerous international opponents, while the events also provided valuable opportunities for community building and international exchange alongside the high level of sporting performance
