9th International Interdisciplinary Cholnoky Symposium 2026

20 April 2026

The 9th International Interdisciplinary Cholnoky Symposium was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs. The scientific Symposium provided a comprehensive overview of current research directions in pharmaceutical sciences, natural sciences, humanities, as well as medical and biotechnological fields. The event took place in the Collaboratory space of Building “K” at the Faculty of Pharmacy, where the poster session was available for participants throughout the day.

The conference began at 9:00 a.m. with an official opening ceremony, during which the organizers welcomed the participants and outlined the main points of the program. This was followed by presentations in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Section, where topics included the investigation of the absorption and metabolism of para-aminophenol, the biological effects of curcuminoid derivatives, and the potential applications of naturally derived anti-inflammatory compounds. The presentations reflected the diversity of modern pharmaceutical research, ranging from molecular-level studies to applied therapeutic approaches.

During the first coffee break, participants had the opportunity to gain insight into the structure and operation of the EDUC program. This was followed by the Natural Sciences Section, which covered a wide spectrum of research topics, from the analysis of mycotoxin contamination and photochemical processes to the psychological aspects of performance anxiety. Apiculture and food safety topics were also prominently featured, including the microbiological examination of honey.

After the lunch break, the Medical and Biotechnology Section focused on current issues in health-related research. Participants learned about, among others, the role of plant essential oils in Parkinson’s disease research, the impact of vitamin D on follicular development, and the application of cell cultures in bone formation studies. In addition, presentations addressed the neurotoxic effects of glutamate and the clinical significance of drug–drug interactions.

The conference concluded with closing remarks highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of young researchers in scientific advancement. The event provided an excellent opportunity for professional exchange, networking, and gaining insight into current research trends across various scientific disciplines. Overall, the conference offered high-quality presentations and an inspiring academic environment, contributing to the strengthening of scientific dialogue and collaboration.
