One of the missions of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Pécs is to help its students progress in their studies and thus reduce student drop-out. To this end, it has launched a Learning Support Mentor Program for students in both English and Hungarian language courses. The aim is to create student study groups led by senior pharmacy or biotechnology students (mentors) where students can discuss the more difficult details of a subject with the help and support of the mentor.
This application aims to award scholarships to students who have performed outstanding and effective mentoring activities in the autumn semester of the academic year 2024/2025. Students with active student status may receive a one-time scholarship of up to HUF 100 000, i.e. one hundred thousand Hungarian Forints for successful and outstanding mentoring activities. The scholarship amount will be determined based on the mentoring activity performed in the spring semester and the score achieved by the applicant.
To apply, you must submit a summary of the completed mentoring activities in a maximum of 1 page, including:
- Name of mentor, name of the mentored subject, and number of mentored students.
- A short report summary of the completed lessons.
- Other activities that contributed to the success of the mentoring (if any).
- The names of the mentored students.
- Attached as a supplement: prepared support materials for the mentored students (if any).
Applications must be submitted electronically to mentor@gytk.pte.hu. The name of the application file submitted is: Excellence_LastName_Surname_date.pdf
Deadline for submission: 14 February 2025.
The evaluation of the applications and the decisions on the scholarship amount will be carried out by a committee of 3 members (2 coordinators, and one person delegated by the Student Council). The committee will consider the following criteria when evaluating the applications and determining the scholarship amount:
- Number of students mentored
- Success of mentoring

- Quality of the support material for mentored students (if any)
Applicants will be notified of the results by email before 28 February.
The application may not be resubmitted in case of absence of documentation.
The student may appeal against the Committee’s decision within 15 days from the date of notification or from the date of becoming aware of the decision. The appeal must be addressed to the Second Level Educational Committee and submitted to the organization/individual who made the first level decision. It must be accompanied by the decision appealed against and the documents supporting the claim.
